Paddling Fitness Classes

Paddling and fitness go together like peanut butter and jelly.  While strolling on the water catching up with our friends is fun, sometimes we are more looking to get our heart rate up and our sweat on.  We find that having an instructor on the water helping motivate you and give advice on your paddle stroke helps keep your heart rate up.


1 Class = $15  |  5 pack of classes = $12/ea  |  10 pack of classes = $10/ea

*class cost are in addition to your equipment rental or your monthly dues

 
Info regarding the Full Moon Paddle
 
The full moon is upon us! We will be paddling onto the water to celebrate the moon magic.

Full Moon Paddles are $25 for Members, this is a MEMBERS ONLY event.  To be become a member, all it takes is a $49 lifetime fee.  Learn more here: Paddle Sports Center Membership

 

What to Bring:
1.) White Headlamp (mandatory)
2.) Watch
3.) Your happy self!

 

We will be getting on the water as fast as possible. Please arrive NO LATER than the above meeting time (we suggest 15 min before hand). This paddle is not meant for first time paddlers. Basic paddling knowledge is a must! We DO NOT have extra headlamps and a white light MANDATORY per the US Coast Guard. NO exceptions.

 

If you have you own board/yak bring it! You can join the group heading out.

Want to get more fitness out of your time on the water? The goal of this class is to push your comfort zone outside of the normal leisurely paddle to a cardio workout paddle, focusing on stroke technique and cadence, engaging core muscles, and improving speed. You will be out breath, burn calories and be sore the next day...in a good way!
This is a scheduled group paddle for 1 hour.
Have you paddled past Sandspit and Leadbetter and seen people cruising on waves and thought...I want to do that? Now is your chance! This class will take you on a nice warm-up paddle through the harbor to Sandspit, or off Leadbetter beach to the point (depending on conditions), where you will play in the waves. You will focus on positioning yourself and turning for catching waves, acceleration paddle stroke, riding waves, and falling safely. This is a fun, no pressure group paddle for 1 hour.
