Simple and Easy Policies. All of your payments are transferable up to 72 hours prior to departure.
Deposit: To hold a reservation we take a 50% deposit, which is transferable at any time to a different date.
Balance Due: 7 days prior to your departure, we will charge the balance to your credit card automatically. 100% is transferable up to 72 hours prior to your departure. 72 Hour Red Zone: Within 72 hours of your departure only 50% of your payment will be transferable as credit.
Island Packer seats are non-refundable within 72 hours of departure. If weather is unstable for kayaking, but the ferry was boarded, the ferry tickets are non-refundable.
CIO charges a $5 convenience fee for all third-party reservations that we facilitate. This includes Island Packers ferry seats, NPS campground site, and CIP food orders other than included meals. The fee may be waived for groups larger than 6 as long as the reservation is made more than 7 days prior to departure.
If you desire a refund of your payments, please contact us with your request by phone or responding to your confirmation email. Refunds are processed on a per person basis and are subject to management approval. All refunds issued will be processed minus a 10% fee. This fee covers our credit card fees for the purchase and the refund. We hope you can appreciate that we’re not a multi-national company and we cannot absorb these fees. Thank you for your understanding!
Just so you know where we’re coming from … When a reservation is created, CIO begins planning for your program by securing the necessary campsites, ferry seats, equipment, and guides. You are holding limited spaces on an adventure that may sell out. We want you to be happy, and we want everyone else to be happy too!
**All WIlderness Medicine Courses (including but not limited to wilderness first aid, first responder, and wilderness first responder recertification) require cancellation 30 prior to a course’s first day of class. A full credit will be issued for cancellations before 30 days. No refunds ore credits will be awarded for classes cancelled for any reason within 30 days.
Weather Cancellations: If CIO has to cancel due to weather, CIO will reschedule if possible, issue a full credit for use at a later date, or issue a full refund – whichever is preferred. If you travel to the islands and purchased the ferry tickets from us, please know that the ferry tickets are non-refundable once you board the ferry.
Group Reservations: In order to receive group pricing, the payment must come from one party. Group sizes are confirmed 7 days prior to the program date. Participants can be added to the group up to departure date if space is available. If the group size is modified before the 7 day window and this changes the group pricing rate, the per person rate will change with respect to the new group size.

We Protect Your Privacy
We respect the privacy of our customers. All information submitted to CIO will not be sold or distributed to any third parties. By submitting your email to Paddle Sports you agree to be enlisted in our email list for specials and discounts. You may choose to not receive these emails at any time by contacting us by phone or by email. All other information is entered into our trip database to make booking your second and third event much easier.
Except for event data applicable to children, we do not intend to collect any personally identifiable information from children through our web sites. Please do not allow children under the age of 18 to provide any personally identifiable information.
CIO uses Secure Sockets Layer technology (SSL) on those pages that involve sensitive information such as credit card numbers. SSL, which is supported by a vast majority of Internet browsers available today, is the most commonly employed method of secure, encrypted communication used on the Internet. Your credit card information is encrypted so you can shop with peace of mind.
NOTE—E-mail is not secure. Please remember, your e-mail correspondence should never include sensitive information you would not like to share with the general public as e-mail is never a secure environment on the Internet.
